The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. System is a customer-driven workforce development system that serves employers and job seekers to ensure that employers have the skilled workers they need and workers have good jobs that provide economic self-sufficiency. The Michigan Chamber of Commerce was established in November 1959 to represent employer interests by working to promote conditions favorable to economic development in Michigan. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The State of MI Bureau of Workers' Unemployment and Compensation, The Northwest Michigan Council of Governments facilitates and manages services and programs for ten counties in the region, including Regional Planning and Community Development; Northwest Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Northwest Michigan Works, Workforce Development Board, Northwest Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center, Teamwork NorthWest, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center program, KAL-TEC, Healthcare Regional Skills Alliance of Northwest Michigan, and the Regional Repository for US Census data.
