January Book Club

January 28, 2020
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

Michigan Planners
417 S. Union Street
Traverse City, MI 49684

Please join us as we kick off the new TAHRA book club on Tuesday, January 28th from 4:30 - 6pm. Kurt Swartz of Michigan Planners will be our host for the launch of the program.

Our first book is Belonging at Work written by Rhodes Perry. The book coincides with our diversity learning initiatives and is focused on helping us all to learn everyday actions you can take to cultivate an inclusive organization.

Betsy Williams and Raquel Paulus will facilitate the open discussion as we discuss the first three chapters in the book. Those first three chapters dive into what it means to belong to an organization. Be sure to check out the end of each chapter of the book as it has you reflect and consider lessons learned. There are some thought leader lessons that we can explore, share, and learn together from.

Other book club sessions for Belonging at Work are:

Tuesday, February 25, 2020 Britten will be our host company from 4:30 - 6pm.
We will discuss chapters 4 through 6: Exploring why belonging at work matters.

Tuesday, March 31, 2020 TentCraft will be our host company from 4:30 - 6pm.
We will reflect on chapters 7 through 9: Exploring how you can cultivate a sense of belonging at work.

You can purchase the book online, or if you have Kindle Unlimited it is available to you there for free.

Please RSVP so we can know how many people to plan on. Even if you do not have time to get the book and read it before the session please come join us for the discussion. We will all learn from each other.
